The moon never fades,
And the sun will never slow.
We must be like them.

When learning to fly
Remembering to come down
Is the hardest thing.

Live your life in a
Memorable kinda way,
And make this world yours.
The man who worked too fast.
So I work with a man. He is a good man, a moral man, a fast man. This man is a “work your butt off” kinda man. He never slows down, not even to eat. he is a vital asset to a company that only considers office jobs vital assets, but his job is more important. Even beyond this mans ability to make sure this plant stays running, he is indirectly a teacher, giving everyone of us here a lesson we should all abide by, and be weary of……
When we do everything as quickly as this man, our lives are put in danger. Physically, we all know working too fast invites injury to our dining room table and then our bed. There is another danger though. A danger just as bad as physical; and that danger is loss.
We lose our humanity bit by bit. We miss what life is showing us, and it is not speed. Once you stop and see the world at 25 mph, that 70 mph lifestyle fades. You will learn more about yourself and the world and that’s what’s important
Not being the first to the finish line, but making sure we ALL make it to the finish line.
So don’t be a “get it done quickly”!kinda man livin’ life as fast as you can, Slow it down and enjoy the day, And life life the better way.
There Once was a Man Who Looked, But couldn’t see.
There once was a man who looked but couldn’t see. He was smart for he studied constantly.
But for all his knowledge, he couldn’t see.
He couldn’t see what life was. In all his studying he lost sight of what’s important. Sure he knew math, and science, stars, and even religions.
But what he found in studying he lost in
Life.
He lost what life was and what it could be,
For He was the man that looked but couldn’t see
The man with sand in his eyes.
There once was a man that loved the beach. One day at the beach he got sand in his eyes. Now this sand irritated his eye so much he could not see. Do you see? Even something you cannot see can cause you so much pain.
A Man with a Pebble in His Shoe.
There once was a man with a pebble in his shoe,
Everyone told him not to worry about it.
It was just a small pebble they’d say,
And to leave it alone because taking it out would slow him down.
So he left it in at their behest.
After a week, the man could no longer work because the pebble made his foot swell and he could no longer wear his shoe. Because he could not wear his shoe, he could not work. Because he could not work, he could not afford the things he needed.
His friend, seeing how far he had fallen,
Offered him some advice. “Please take the pebble out of your shoe, dear friend, it has turned into a Boulder.” See no one but himself and his dear friend could see the pebble was actually a Boulder. Everyone else saw only a pebble.
He took the pebble out of his shoe because he knew his friend cared for him and he trusted him.
He got better and went back to work.
Now when someone else at work gets a pebble in their shoe and is told to not worry about it, the man tells them to learn from his mistake and fix it, because when others see pebbles, it might be boulders.
Thompson and the Dog part 1
Thompson, on his way home late one night, is on the phone. One the other end of that phone call is one mad lady.
Now this lady she is mad that much is true,
But for Thompson there was naught he could do.
This lass is the type to throw feelings at the drop of a dime,
And all Thompson could do was give it a little time.
They are in love you see. It may not be “developed”, and some may call it “puppy” love, but to them you see, it is real. We can’t discredit how they feel because we may have “been through this” ourselves. They feel every bit of love, and sadness, and “neglect” just as much as developed relationships, but theirs is a rollercoaster. Everything they feel is multiplied infinitely because they are new to love. They need time to figure out how it works. They will be fine, trust me.
When Thompson and the lass are together the world doesn’t move,
But when they are apart, to each other, everything they must prove.
Now being on the phone, both upset about how they can’t always be together, Thompson needs to pull over. He knows he is distracted. He sees the hazards and aims to eliminate them. He gets out and sits on his tailgate until they can both tell each they love each other enough that they actually believe it. After a couple of minutes that time has come. They each say they love each other and tomorrow can’t come fast enough.
After he hangs up, he hears a sound. It’s not a normal sound you would hear on a dark highway going through the woods in the middle of the night, so he investigates. It’s not far in the woods until he finds it. It’s a dog. A little skinny from lack of food but no worse for wear. The dog, which Thompson notices is a boy, seems a little odd to him. It seems to react in ways that someone would if your were having a conversation. It seems the dog is a little more expressive than a normal dog. Strange indeed. But let’s proceed.
Now Thompson has found a dog in need.
But who needs whom more?
For both of them, what lies in store?
To the end of this tale you must read
So to the next part we will proceed.
My Covid temp check short story of the day.
He ran, jumping old tree remnants that have fallen. Running faster, jumping farther he kept pushing on. He was sure by his next step he would get hit something. Anything could be thrown to hit him and and knock him for his course, and he knew what was chasing him had the ability to throw objects very fast. Getting away was all he could hope to do. Running. Jumping. Dodging…… All came naturally to him and he did them well. Even as far as he’s gone already, he knew he could go on countless times past that. His breathing would be a little more than resting if not for the ever present fear of getting caught or hit.
Running. Jumping. But not dodging. This time his misstep cost him, but only with a slap from a low hanging branch like the ones he would have to pick for his mom when he got in trouble for not picking up his trash in his bedroom. As the little droplets of blood slid down his check he started remembering where he was. There are landmarks everywhere when you’ve played woods your whole life. He couldn’t get to hopeful now but he was almost there.
Just a few more steps and he’s be out of the woods. Home. Safety was there with his mother and father. Both together would save him from this foul situation he has found himself in, on his own accord. It’s true. This was his fault but he’s just a kid and can’t shouldn’t be expect to save him from monsters twice his size.
Yes! Out of the woods. Now across the yard he goes. Feet faster. Breathing heavy. Sweat pouring. Muscles aching. Suddenly pain was all he felt. Severe pain, making his entire left leg hurt. He was hit and he knew it. The force of the impact on his upper hamstring bruised his leg instantly and knocked him to the ground causing countless other pains from the fall. He lay face down in the the grass he knew so well. This was his yard. He almost made it and now it’s over.
As the pain slowly died down, IT stood over him, panting and wheezing. Then it kicked him in the side and said “next time you hit me in the back with something I’m going to whoop your ass and throw you out our bedroom window….punk.”
